Dear Friends of the Acton Jazz Café,
We would like to give you a progress report about what has been done so far thanks to your generous donations to help out the Acton Jazz Café.
The first phase was to pay off some immediate debts and expenses. Now, during the second phase, the equipment and personnel to help out on the financial side are being addressed. A new cash register system has been ordered to replace the old one that was no longer working, and accounting software was purchased and a bookkeeper has been hired. These recent actions together with the help of Gwenn, the Café’s accountant and a business advisor, are designed to put in place a business model to support the Café’s future business activities.
None of this would have been possible without your generous support, so a big thanks to all of you! Also, if you know of anyone who hasn’t but would like to donate, tell them that checks can be made out to Gwenn Vivian Support Trust (that’s us) and sent to:
Middlesex Savings Bank

Also, a big thank-you to Reverend Dale Parker who generously donated the beautiful Hammond organ that we all enjoy, and to Fred Mudge who has helped out so much with the new Toyo piano. Others have donated their time and energies in so many ways, including repainting& outfitting the kitchen, playing amazing music and working the door at Fundraisers, organizing Raffles, CD donations and sales, and on and on. A huge thank you to all of you! And finally, many thanks to our devoted staff who came in on their off-hours to clean and rejuvenate the Café before its re-opening.
A very happy spring to one and all, and don’t be a stranger!!!
Best,
Phill Argyris, Molly Flannery, Tim Ahern, Karen McHenry and Gwenn Vivian
